Is This Your Organization Right Now?
After the Incident
- A racial or institutional harm has occurred and your team is fractured
- You’ve issued a statement and called HR — and people are still angry
- Media is involved and you’re managing pressure from every direction
- You know the next wrong step could make this significantly worse
Leadership Under Pressure
- Your team is watching how you handle this moment
- You need more than a script — you need a structure
- Silence and avoidance are not options but you don’t know what comes next
- Trust has eroded and you’re not sure how to begin rebuilding it
What You Need Right Now
- A strategic partner who understands how harm moves through teams and institutions
- A structured framework for accountability, repair, and forward movement
- Someone who has been in these rooms before and knows what works
- Clarity on what the next 30 to 90 days need to look like
Hello and Welcome!
I am Dr. Kimmery Newsom, PhD, LMFT-S, CFLE, organizational consultant, and the person organizations call when harm has already occurred and the stakes are too high to get it wrong.
For over 20 years I have worked at the intersection of culture, harm, healing, and leadership. My background in Marriage and Family Therapy gives me the clinical lens to understand how harm moves through systems — not just individuals. My academic work and 21 years in higher education give me the structural framework to translate that understanding into leadership strategy.
I don’t do awareness work. I do response work.
I come in when the incident has already happened — when your team needs more than a training and your leadership needs more than a script. I bring structure, accountability, and a proprietary framework built specifically for this moment.
About Dr. K
Dr. Kimmery Newsom studied at Kansas State University, where she completed a BS in psychology in 2004, MS in Marriage and family therapy in 2006, and a PhD in Family Studies in 2013. Dr. Newsom is a consultant, a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) in KS, MN, and WI, and a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE). She has been taught in higher education for 17+ years. Her areas of focus for consulting include but are not limited to cultivating equity, cultural humility, cultural competency, and cultural issues related to racism and discrimination in society. Dr. Newsom is a professor, author, speaker and trainer on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB). She is the first author on a textbook anthology, which is in its second edition called Cultural Diversity in Family Life Education and has taught classes on cultural competency since 2009.
When harm has occurred, the next 90 days define everything.
I understand what it feels like to walk into a fractured room — where trust has broken down, tension is high, and every decision carries weight. My role is to partner with your leadership team in turning that moment of disruption into a structured opportunity for accountability, repair, and sustainable culture change.
THE Cultivating Equity in Practice (CEP) RESPONSE MODEL™
When racial, social, or institutional harm occurs in your organization, you need more than a policy response. The CEP Response Model™ is a structured, three-phase engagement that helps leadership teams stabilize their teams, take accountability, and move from disruption to sustainable repair. This is not a workshop. This is not a training. This is end-to-end partnership in the moments that matter most.
WHEN HARM HAPPENS, LEADERSHIP IS REVEALED
Organizations bring me in when harm has already occurred and the stakes are too high to get it wrong. I specialize in the moments most organizations get wrong — when silence, avoidance, or missteps can deepen harm rather than repair it. I am not just a trainer. I am a strategic partner in moments of organizational rupture.
The Cost of Getting This Wrong
When harm occurs in your organization, the window for effective response is limited. Silence deepens division. Avoidance erodes trust. Missteps in the first 30 to 90 days can fracture a team beyond repair. Without a structured response organizations experience ongoing team instability, erosion of leadership credibility, repetition of harm, and long-term reputational damage. This is not the moment for awareness training. This is the moment for accountability, repair, and structured culture change.
READY TO RESPOND DIFFERENTLY?
STEP 1
Harm has occurred in your organization and the pressure to respond correctly is immediate. The first step is a confidential strategy call with Dr. K — focused entirely on your specific situation. You’ll leave with clarity on what structured repair looks like for your organization.
STEP 2
Together we assess the harm landscape — what occurred, who was impacted, and what has already been done. From there we build your accountability and response framework using the CEP Response Model™, designed specifically for organizations navigating racial, social, and institutional harm.
STEP 3
We move your organization from disruption to repair — stabilizing your team, facilitating accountability conversations, and building the internal capacity to respond to harm without causing more of it. The result is a more stable, accountable, and aligned organization.
